In
May of this year, Kali Margaret, Tom's twelve year old daughter,
was removed from her foster home in Beaverton, Oregon, for reasons
we have yet to be made aware of. Her mother and step-father
provided her care for about a month before finding a suitable
foster home to place her. Kali is now in a home that is located in
Oregon City, Oregon. Her foster family appear to be thrilled to
have Kali to care for. We hope that they will continue to love
her. Kali is profoundly disabled both physically and mentally. We
are, unfortunately unable to care for her at this point in
time.
In the last year, all three of Susan's children,
along with spouses and the grandchildren moved to our area. They
didn't move down all at once, which made the transitioning easier
for everyone involved.
David Matthew (the oldest child),
Rachel Suzanne (his wife), Brid Suzanne,
and Seamus Patrick (the grandchildren) moved to this area in
November 2004, and stayed with us for four months before moving
out on their own. They now manage an apartment property in San
Jose for the same company we work for. They are doing great and
couldn't be happier.
Stephanie Elizabeth (the
middle child), Landon Gabriel (her husband), and Zaccheus
Sage (the grandchild) moved to this area in May of this
year. On their way here for a visit the car they were driving
burst into flames in Tracy, California, and was destroyed. They
had planned to move here eventually, however these circumstances
accelerated the decision to move here. It was difficult for them
at first, but now they are doing great and wouldn't choose to live
any place else.
Margaret (Maggie) Isabella (the youngest
child) and her boyfriend Jesse Eugene moved here in November of
this year. They are expecting their first baby (a girl, Caitlin
Elizabeth) in January 2006. Life can be pretty scary when you're
young and have no experience in child-rearing, and not enough work
experience to be a stand alone family. They will be coming to stay
with us for a while, beginning December 29th.
We
took a week long journey to Ireland in October. We enjoyed
ourselves so much that we have already made reservations for
September 2006, only this time we will be staying for two weeks.
We stayed in the County Meath and County Louth
area, and plan to return to the same places You can find links to
the narrative and image gallery at the bottom of
this page. Tom created a really awesome DVD of the journey which
is jointly narrated by us. If you would like to purchase a copy,
please send us an e-mail.
Lately, Tom has been working
on animated short films. The first, “Interview With A
Model”, is in the final stages of completion. The short
integrates art which both Tom and Susan have created, as well as
original musical scores which Tom has composed. It is well worth
watching. Every person we have given a private screening to has
really enjoyed it. Tom also continues to expand on his music
creations, each composition becoming more reflective of the Tom
and Susan we have come to know. A quiet evolution of
ourselves.
Susan is currently involved in further
researching different aspects of Ancient Ireland, and the Celts in
general. While on our journey, we visited many places we had never
heard about, along with places we both knew existed. We also
experienced moments which can only be described as bazaar at best.
We traveled to Ireland with an itinerary, but meandered away from
that once there. We want to be well prepared for our next journey
there.
We continue employment as apartment managers, each
day bringing its own peculiar happenings. September marked the
beginning of our third year with our present employer. Apartment
dwelling is such a nomadic way of life, people only stopping here
long enough to get a bearing on what they want to do next. No one
really stays for very long, so it doesn't make sense to form close
relationships. However, almost all of the people we meet are
interesting, and sharing philosophies is grand. Rarely do we find
anyone we meet to be disagreeable. It certainly makes the
days easier to do.
We are both still very excited
about the progress in thinking and awareness. As humanity edges
ever closer to spiritual realization, we wonder just what it
will take to bring about the awakening. The year to come should
have some answers for all of us! We hope your life is all it can be :-)
